The Space and Planetary Exploration Laboratory (SPEL) is proud to announce the successful deployment and start of operations for SUCHAI 4. This 3U nanosatellite was launched into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) as part of the SpaceX Transporter-17 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base.

SUCHAI 4 is a technological milestone, carrying nearly 60 different experiments on board. This mission represents a collaborative effort to push the boundaries of what miniaturized satellites can achieve. Key research areas include:

• Space Biotechnology: Testing the behavior of extremophile bacteria in orbit to understand how life adapts to space conditions.
• Advanced Communications: Evaluating laser communication systems and IoT protocols for future satellite constellations.
• Space Physics: Continuing the study of the ionosphere and magnetosphere, contributing to global space weather models.
• Experimental Hardware: Flight-testing new Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS) and modular flight software.
